This page describes how Hoyt Notary Services ("we," "us," or "Jeffrey Hoyt") collects, uses, and protects information when you contact us, book a signing, or receive follow-up communications from us. This policy is maintained by the owner of Hoyt Notary Services and applies to hoytnotary.com and to our email and SMS communications.

Information we collect

• Contact information you give us — name, email address, mobile phone number, and appointment details (type of signing, preferred date/time, and location).
• Signing records — a record that we performed a notary service for you, and any private notes we keep for our own reference.
• Feedback you send us — messages you submit through our private feedback link after an appointment.
• Basic technical information — standard server logs (for example, IP address and request time) generated when you visit this site.

We do not retain images of your identification or copies of your notarized documents on this website. Notary journal entries required by state law are kept separately in accordance with those laws.

How we use your information

• To schedule, confirm, and complete your notary appointment.
• To send a one-time email and/or text message after your appointment asking for feedback or a review, and up to one follow-up reminder if you have not responded.
• To respond to questions you send us.
• To keep records required by state notary law.

SMS / text messaging

If you provide your mobile number, you consent to receive text messages from Hoyt Notary Services related to your signing — including appointment confirmations and a follow-up review request after your appointment. Message frequency is low (typically 1–2 messages per signing). Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for help. You can also contact us at 206-940-7725 or jjhoyt@gmail.com to be removed from text messages. We do not share or sell mobile numbers or SMS opt-in information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who help us operate this site and send messages on our behalf (for example, our website host, email delivery provider, and, if enabled, our SMS provider Twilio). These providers may only use the information to provide services to us.
• Government or legal authorities when required by law, such as records required under state notary law or in response to a valid legal request.

How long we keep information

Contact and booking information is kept while your appointment is active and for a reasonable period afterward for follow-up and record-keeping. Notary journal information is kept for the period required by state law. You can ask us to delete contact information we hold about you (see below); records we are legally required to keep will be retained until the required period ends.

Your choices

• Access or correction — email us to request a copy of the contact information we hold about you, or to correct it.
• Deletion — email us to request deletion of contact information not required to be retained by law.
• Email opt-out — reply asking us to stop, or contact us directly.
• SMS opt-out — reply STOP to any text message.

Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information you share with us, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
